VROUWEN IN BAD

WOMEN IN BATH

This extremely successful show with more than 50 sold-out performances, choreographed by Andrea Boll, is simply lively and vibrant!
Five women, five intimate portraits about heroines, shame, body rituals and perfect buttocks to music by Natacha Atlas and Schubert. A sympathetic, attractive and satirical production full of feminine beauty and magical dance.

This world has almost no secrets. For every secret and secret desire, there is a talk show, an invisible camera or a chat box. One of the last mysteries left over from science and the media is the wonderful symbiosis that women have with their bathrooms. Time passes more slowly or even stands still. With every piece of clothing that falls, the outside world loses its intrusive import. Seduced by warmth, sweet fragrances and soft cloths, the soul creeps gently out of its shell.

What happens when women from different cultures and of different ages meet in this mood? What goes on in hammams and baths? What do they tell each other while brushing their backs, pouring ice-cold water on them or rubbing away softly soaked calluses?

Women In Bath guesses at the secrets of women, shows their power and weaknesses, their pride and strength, their struggle with themselves and the past, their search for identity. Women and their ideals and idols, their dreams and fears.

During their sometimes confrontational encounters, the spectator is forced into the role of voyeur, creating a constantly changing game about how five women are viewed and how they experience themselves.
